De Eekhoorn is a Dutch school that offers Dutch Language and Cultural (NTC) education every Friday afternoon in The Woodlands, Texas. Classes are held from 4:15 pm to 6:30 pm and the school follows the Conroe ISD calendar for the holidays.
Our school is affiliated with the NOB, the Dutch regulator on Dutch language education abroad, and is supervised under the quality supervision of the Dutch Education Inspectorate. The quality of our education is therefore comparable to that of schools in the Netherlands.
From school year 2023 – 2024 de Eekhoorn will also offer secondary level education for students that have a Dutch language elementary level and want to get an official Dutch language certificate. For example because they intend to go to college in the Netherlands or Belgium.
The lessons will be given through a combination of online and in-person lessons. The focus will be on culture and literature, but also on (upkeeping) writing- and of course speaking skills. The objective is to work towards an official Dutch language certificate (CNaVT). This certificate allows you to enroll in any Dutch speaking school or University in the Netherlands or Belgium
